ABOUT US
Training Philosophy: The Capoeira Academy Okinawa staff members are trained in various martial arts, and as such, do not look at Capoeira training from the stand point of those who have only trained Capoeira. Therefore, our program is designed to provide a complete experience in the beauty as well as the practical applications of Capoeira. We will show students the balance and the beauty of switching between self-defense and dance. Repetition is key to our training. Students can expect to excel through the levels at the pace of their own dedication in training. Music and dance are also integrated into the curriculum, and students can expect to learn different rhythms and musical scores on all types of world instruments. Again, time and dedication are the key to success in all areas of Capoeira Academy Okinawa's curriculum.
Community Outreach: The students of Capoeira Academy Okinawa have the wonderful opportunity to perform and reach out to the local and military population on a weekly basis. As good neighbors we want to present a positive presence in the community at all times. Community outreach is a priority of Capoeira Academy Okinawa, and the staff will find, or create opportunities to expose the students to the wonderful surrounding community. Because of its efforts in community service, Capoeira Academy Okinawa received the American Chamber of Commerce's first ever, Distinguished Community Service Award in December of 2007.
